Niels Thagaard

CEO and founder
Niels has over 20 years of experience in diagnostic imaging companies.

In 2000, he founded Thava Imaging A/S, which quickly became Denmark's largest imaging company in close collaboration with Region South, Privathospitalet Hamlet and several others. Thava provided diagnostic imaging services within e.g. MRI, CT, Dexa, UL and Mammography.

In 2012, he founded Astra Billeddiagnostik A/S, which through a close collaboration with Copenhagen Private Hospital in Kgs. Lyngby became a leader in MRI in the metropolitan area. In 2016, Astra Imaging Diagnostics was acquired by CFR/Capio.

Anne Bjeld

Center manager
Anne has more than 25 years of experience in the health sector.

She was trained as a medical secretary at Fredericia Hospital in 1993 and has since then been employed in several different specialties, including orthopedic surgery, medicine, urology, gynecology and radiology.

Prior to joining Progardia, she was employed by Documentation and Management Information in the Region of Southern Denmark, where she among other things, has worked with the implementation of the Region of Southern Denmark's reporting to the new National Patient Register, LPR3, registration practice at the region's hospitals, input data as well as output data.

Hella Thagesen

Deputy center manager
Hella has been employed in the healthcare sector for more than 30 years.

She was trained as a medical secretary in 1985 and was subsequently employed at Middelfart Hospital in the, at the time, Hospital Fyn.

From 2002, Hella has been employed in positions with management responsibilities, first as Hotline Coordinator in Sygehus Fyn, senior medical secretary at the medical department Middelfart Hospital, Service desk manager in the regional house in the Region of Southern Denmark and then reception manager at Odense University Hospital.

Rikke Eiberg

Medical secretary

Rikke has been employed in the health sector for more than 20 years.

She finished training as a medical secretary in 2001 from Svendborg Hospital, and has since been employed at Lillebælt Hospital.
Rikke has been at the Organ and Plastic Surgery Department in Vejle and at the Medical Department in Kolding, in the latter place also in the capacity of student manager.

Sabine Barasinski

Medical secretary

Sabine has been employed in the health sector for more than 20 years.

She trained as a medical secretary in 2004 from Fredericia Hospital and has since been employed at Lillebælt Hospital.

Sabine has been at the Gynecology/Obstetrics Department and the Medical Department until early 2022.

Britt Mortensen

Medical secretary

Britt has more than 25 years of experience in the health sector.

Britt trained as a medical secretary at Bispebjerg Hospital in 2001 and has since worked both in Denmark and the Faroe Islands in various specialties in hospitals as well as having been employed in private practice. Prior to employment at Progardia Mamma, she had a central role as responsible for healthcare x-ray systems at Landssygehuset in Torshavn.

Britt speaks Faroese, Danish and Swedish.

Jon Asmussen

Specialist in radiology
Jon is employed as chief physician in charge of oncological radiology at Odense University Hospital.

Jon is originally from Southern Jutland and studied medicine at Odense University, where he passed his medical degree in 1995. After a rotation and radiological introductory education in Central Jutland, he completed radiological specialist training in Esbjerg and Odense, and completed this in 2004.

Jon has since further specialized in diagnostic imaging within investigation and treatment of cancers with ultrasound, X-ray, CT, MRI and hybrid methods with PET. He has also been employed at Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen and at Waikato Hospital in Hamilton, New Zealand, as well as at numerous international continuing education courses in Sweden, Switzerland, England and the USA.

John Hjarbæk

Specialist in radiology
Medical degree from Odense University 1986, Specialist in Diagnostic Radiology in 1994. Received Norwegian Specialist recognition in radiology in 1998.

Basic education and course position in diagnostic radiology at Odense University Hospital with additional education at Vejle-Give hospital.

From 1994 to 2007 1st reserve doctor / chief physician in Vejle resp. Odense with musculoskeletal radiology as area of responsibility.

Then 4 years as chief physician and medical director at Thava Imaging, Middelfart

Subsequently employed as chief physician at Musculoskeletal section Radiology Department Odense University Hospital.

23 scientific publications primarily in the field of musculoskeletal and physiological. From 1993 to 2018 clinical associate professor and external examiner at Odense University and the University of Southern Denmark at X-ray diagnostics and clinical biomechanics.

Kim Jensen

Senior radiographer & MRI specialist

Kim has over 20 years of experience in diagnostic imaging. Since 2001, he has been an MRI specialist.

In the period 2001-2007, he was employed at Kolding Hospital, where he among other things was involved in implementing the first 2 MRI scanners at the Hospital. He was employed as an MRI specialist and Deputy Head at THAVA Imaging in Middelfart in the period 2007-2011, where he in close collaboration with the radiologists was responsible for the MRI protocols on the two 1.5T MRI scanners.

He also tried his hand at leadership, as Deputy Head of the center manager. From 2011 to 2020, he has been an MRI specialist at Kolding Hospital, where in the period 2016-2020 he was a ward radiographer for MRI scanning and vascular intervention.

He is known for being innovative and visionary. In 2015 he took the initiative to establish a child-friendly MRI environment, which resulted in a development project Children Centered Care: Minimizing the need for anesthesia with a multi-faceted concept for MRI in children aged 4-6. The article was included in the European Journal Of Radiology as the concept reduced the need for anesthesia, aged 4-6 years, from 57% to an impressive 5%. In addition to this he is studying management at master's level at the University of Southern Denmark and Aarhus University.

Per Ulrich

MRI specialist
Per has 20+ years of experience in diagnostic imaging. MRI specialist since 2007.

Employed at Kolding Hospital from 2002-2020. The first many years as a CT superuser, but switched to MRI in 2006. In the period 2006-2020, he participated in the implementation of 2 MRI scanners at Kolding Hospital. He has been responsible for the development of MRI protocols and procedure book for the MRI scanners 1.5T and 3T, respectively, in collaboration with the radiologists.

As an MRI specialist, Per has participated in many of the MRI courses offered in Denmark and several international courses in Europe and the United States. Per has regularly participated in Workshops and congresses within MR.

He has been responsible for teaching students and new radiographers in MRI technique as well as performing MRI scans. He has written several posts in the Radiograph Council's trade magazine and prepared a Poster on MRI scan of blood vessels for ISRRT.

Per has been a leader in the spread of MRI safety in Kolding and Denmark.

In 2020, Per started working at Progardia Healthcare.

Jørgen Vallø

Several scientific articles primarily neck degenerative diseases as well as rheumatic diseases.

Main areas of interest are neuro- and muscle and joint MRI. Taught MRI diagnostics on both Danish and Swedish MRI courses. Course activity primarily neuro-, muscle- and joint MRI.

Business partners

Medin Private Clinic diagnoses patients with suspected heart, lung and neurological diseases. In addition, they perform VO2max and fitness tests in collaboration with athletes.

Progardia collaborates with Medin Private Clinic in particular regarding the examination of the neurological patients as well as other diagnostic examinations. Like Progardia, Medin Private Clinic is located in Middelfart.
